Interim Superintent of Schools, Tom Cox, released the following statement to the Medina Central School District staff and community.
Tonight the Medina Board of Education completed the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. I believe that we can all say that this has been a difficult and lengthy process. However, I believe that the ultimate conclusion places the leadership of the Medina School District in very capable and passionate hands.
I want to congratulate Mark Kruyznski on his appointment and acknowledge the hard work that your Board of Education has done in getting to this point.
I have had the opportunity to see five new superintendents move into the seat in my role as interim. Mark is an excellent choice. I firmly believe that Mark's transition to this leadership role will be smooth. His knowledge of the district systemically and culturally is deep and his dedication and passion for Medina is obvious in every decision that he has made and will make.
Mark brought a $34 million dollar capital project to a successful approval by the community and I believe that a great deal of that success comes from the trust that the community has in Mark.
The challenges of leading a school district are vast and even though Mark is moving a few yards to the north, there will be a great deal to learn. But one of the traits that I have continuously observed in Mark is that he knows when to ask a question, he knows who to ask, and he is not reluctant to seek guidance.
I have truly enjoyed my short time in Medina and have greatly enjoyed working with Mark. It is with great pleasure that I welcome him as a superintendent colleague.
I can only offer that the ongoing success of the district will be in the collaboration of energy of all the stakeholder groups. I look forward to watching the district grow and thrive under Mark Kruzynski's capable leadership.
