College Application Week is a state and national initiative to increase the number of first generation and low-income students who pursue a postsecondary education. Medina High School has participated each year and again this year, during the week of October 17th -21st, will be hosting various events for seniors, and their parents to participate in.
On Wednesday, October 19th, from 6:00-7:30 pm, the Medina Counselors will host the annual Financial Aid Program for seniors and their parents. Amy Masters, Financial Aid Administrator from Genesee Community College, will explain the financial aid process along with providing information about the various forms of aid available.
Many area college representatives will visit the high school next week, to speak to interested students. These visits are very valuable for the students as it allows them to ask questions, and allows the college representative to get to know each student. High School juniors, as well as seniors are encouraged to meet with the reps. Throughout the week, the high school Counselors will continue to meet with seniors assisting them with their college searches, and helping them complete those college applications.
Parents who have questions are always encouraged to contact their child's Counselor.
